Dear Families,
Welcome to another great year at Northwestern! I look forward to working with you and your child.
Northwestern School District holds a special place in my heart. I began my career here when I did my student teaching in 2002. I knew from that point on that Northwestern was where I belonged. I fell in love with the students, staff, and the community. I was lucky enough to be hired on as a teacher 2 years later. After 10 years in the classroom teaching various grades, I was given the opportunity to move up into administration and became the assistant principal and later the principal. It has been a rewarding and challenging journey, but I know that there is nowhere else I would rather be.
Our district contains a Prek-6th grade elementary building and a 7th-12th grade Jr/Sr High building. Our class sizes are small, which allows us to provide instruction in smaller groups. Our main purpose at Northwestern is to educate our students academically; however, we also want to make sure our students have what they need to succeed emotionally and mentally in life. These things happen through the experiences, opportunities and challenges we give our students, not just through the curriculum we teach.

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new assistant principal of our school. As a lifelong educator, I believe in the transformative power of education and am committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers our students to reach their full potential.
At Northwestern, we will strive to cultivate a culture of positivity and excellence, where students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, and become responsible and productive citizens. We will also place a strong emphasis on fostering self-directed learning, so that our students can take ownership of their education and prepare for success in all areas of life.
I look forward to working closely with our students, families, teachers, and staff to make Northwestern a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported. Let's work together to create a bright future for our school and community.
