Superintendent's Welcome
Welcome to the Northwestern Community Unit School District Website. Please utilize this website for useful information regarding the district and let us know if there are any missing items that you would like to see added to improve the site.
The overall goal of Northwestern School District is to provide the best education possible for our students within the financial means of our community. Northwestern is a district that continues to prove that students come first in all matters of the educational process.
Northwestern is a district that places a high priority on student achievement. We have a low pupil to teacher ratio which allows a lot of individualized instruction to fit the needs of our students. Northwestern is a leader in technology; students in grades K through 12 are supplied with an individual electronic device to enhance their learning potential on a daily basis. We also offer a highly sought after Early Childhood Program that begins with birth to three-year-olds and provides home-based instruction and school-based playgroups for students and parents. Three to five year-olds also attend our half-day classes in our Pre-Kindergarten program.
Parents of Northwestern students are encouraged to participate in their child’s education. It is extremely important for each child to have the supportive role of parental involvement and quality communication between teachers and parents, which is continuously occurring here at Northwestern.
Overall, we will do our best to ensure a quality education for all students and continue to strive to meet the needs of everyone involved with our school district. Please continue to visit our website and contact us for further information as needed.
