Macoupin County Public Health Department - Firearm Safe Storage Strategies Grant
In June 2024, Macoupin County Public Health Department was awarded a Firearm Safe Storage Strategies grant through the Illinois Department of Public Health. The purpose of the grant is to implement components of a public awareness campaign outlined in the Safe Gun Storage Public Awareness Campaign Act (Public Act 102-1067). In addition, a goal of this grant is to expand the implementation of objectives in the Making Illinois Safer: Strategic Plan 2018-2022 to build capacity at the state and local level for evidence-based injury prevention so communities can reduce and prevent injuries, violence, and suicide. . . .
